Veterans Retreat November 23, 2023
The retreat began at 12:00pm on Nov 23, 2023 with registration, introductions followed by herd observations. Women veterans were treated to several equine assisted activities scheduled on the agenda. Veteran feedback indicated that bushcraft with Dan Badger and herd observation in the pasture were the most liked but all activities were enjoyed.
Closing ceremonies were conducted in the pasture, amongst the mare herd. Each veteran was given an opportunity to talk about the retreat experience and each was given two remembrance mementos to each veteran – a specially designed wood horseshoe with our logo on it and a Women Veteran lapel pin.
The retreat was supported by Operation Renewed Freedom and Badger Wilderness Guides, and Seabreeze Horse Connection personnel.
